By 2005, Israeli music had matured into a diverse scene. The Idan Raichel Project's groundbreaking fusion of Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, and electronic sounds was named both Song of the Year and Band of the Year. Israeli hip-hop led by Subliminal and Hadag Nahash had gone mainstream, while mizrahi pop continued its dominance through Eyal Golan and Sarit Hadad.
